Year of Tiger

Year of Tiger is a drone light show created for the Taiwan Lantern Festival in Kaohsiung City. The show used 1,500 lightweight drones, flying between 30 and 204 meters above the Love River Bay. The reflection of the lights on the water linked the sky and the river into one image. The animated content combined Taiwanese folklore, history, geography, marine imagery, culture and sport, shown in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. One rehearsal and seven evening performances were held in February 2022.

Ggaedok

Ggaedok is a brand identity for a series of Korean language study supplements. The name Ggaedok is an acronym of the Korean phrase Ggaewooja Dokhaeryuk, which refers to awakening confidence and reading comprehension. Color foils in selected Pantone colors highlight parts of the quotation marks, and matte coating increases their visibility. Characters printed in the vocabulary book and the reading comprehension book add interest for students.

Centrestage 2021

Centrestage 2021 is an introductory event space created for a fashion trade event in Hong Kong. The concept, named Chapter Infinity, was inspired by drawings of impossible spaces. Suspended LED screens, a floating staircase, an infinity mirror and overlapping planes of mesh, mirror and acrylic form the setting. All items were prefabricated off site to allow a three-day installation. Reusable aluminium frames and biodegradable carpets were used.

The architecture combines LED screen blocks, glass blocks, neon lights and frames with concrete, glass and dark matte wood. Depth data from a motion camera is processed and visualized in real time. The installation expresses the idea of services that surround the user.

Leaves

Leaves is a club house for a residential community, located halfway up a mountain in Changsha, China. The interior covers 2000 square meters on two floors. The first floor holds a reception lobby, a swimming pool and a gymnasium, and the second floor is a leisure area with a book bar. A lighting installation of custom made LED leaves is held by white painted aluminum steel cables that also act as conductors. Light control technology shifts the glow of each leaf to imitate autumn wind. The rolling ceiling of the former building is retained to recall a wavy mountain.
