Design is

Design is…, a selection of Brazilian Design group displayed in two hundred colorful mobiles. Each piece, in the shape of a cube, portrayed a different definition of design by creators and creatures from the universe of Brazilian Design, with less than a hundred characters. The installation created a moment for everyone to look up – a unique experience that challenged visitors’ perspectives, as if they were was seeking out stars in a constellation. Each has its own brilliance, but together they form a universe to be explored. It was a conceptual big bang.

Under Pressure

Under Pressure is a simulation training program for journalists in the face of a crisis situation. The tool is an interactive website, with tasks meant to sharpen reportage and decision-making skills. Scenarios featured in the module are based on actual natural disasters and emergencies that happened in the Philippines. The program will also be translated in augmented and virtual reality technology, allowing users to immerse themselves in the actual disaster or emergency scenario.

The Pulse of New Talent showcase captures the essence of youthful excitement, energy and self-expression through the fresh lens of 14 distinct personalities culled from six countries representing an exciting, international world view. The 20 piece collection features inspired and inventive designs; from a visionary visor and imaginative tops and jackets, to youthful swimwear and architecturally inspired outerwear and accessories including bags.

Rook

The word Rook means tower and it was chosen metaphorically to hint a strategy game on an entertainment chessboard. The design concept based on the contrasting nature of White and Black, created an interplay between old and new allowing various metaphors to enable this link between past and present. While taking into account the building history and location, elements of adaptive reuse were employed accentuated by materials and patterns in order to emit the element of time from a minimalist perspective.
