For Georges Rousse

For Georges Rousse is a trophy created as a tribute to a French photographer. The trophy is a three-dimensional sculpture based on anamorphosis, an optical effect in which a form looks distorted from most angles. Plates of cupro-nickel and silver were cut, folded and soldered, then colored by heat to create a contrast between black and white. The trophy measures 115 by 137 by 154 millimeters.

A wireless surgical mallet records the impact force and shows the result on an LED scale. Foxpat allows novice surgeons to learn from mistakes without harming a patient.
